Josephine handwrites poetry in a strange and unruly world, roaming orphaned. Named after Josephine Antonia Lafitte,
(who died as an infant)
The funeral procession took place across from Angela King Gallery on Royal Street in the French Quarter.

It is rumored she was also named after Napoléon’s first wife. Right before Bonaparte became emperor of France, Josephine de Beauharnais bought an estate while he was away in Egypt. The mansions is called Château de Malmaison
and is right outside of Paris.

The Story

Who is Lafitte?
Albeit knowing little about her family lineage, it's well known that the Lafitte's are a pirate family, famous to New Orleans. Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop -- built between 1722 and 1732 by Nicolas Touze, is reputed to be the oldest structure used as a bar in the United States.
Lafitte Brothers, Jean and Pierre, operated the base for their Barataria smuggling operation
